GM Kaspians! Welcome to the eleventh release of Kaspa Weekly! It's been a week since the Crescendo upgrade activated already, time sure does go fast! Today we'll talk about the after effects of Crescendo, such as the ability for home miners to solo mine now, we'll tell you about Igra Labs' presence on ETHDenver and tell you about a new wallet in the ecosystem from the authors of Kasway, Atomik Wallet. Lastly, we'll share an opportunity to get your Kaspa marketing initiative funded. Below you'll find a short summary

The Crescendo Week 🚀

It's been a week since the Crescendo upgrade activated, and the network appears to be running properly. The increase in block production rate has brought some benefits, that might not be visible at first sight.

One of those benefits is the ability for home miners to solo mine. Previously, at 1 BPS it was very hard for a home miner possessing a small hashrate to mine on their own confidently, as hitting a block was rare, because of the competition.

Now, that 10 times more blocks are produced per seconds, in theory home miners have 10 times as many chances to hit a block. Sure, the reward is 10 times smaller as well, but this allows them to mine with confidence and significantly higher chances of getting a reward, instead of relying on a mining pool that shares their profits.

If you're thinking about transitioning to solo mining yourself, check out the Kaspa Solo Mining Simulator developed by coderofstuff to check how the hard fork could impact your earnings. After entering the necessary information, you will get a snapshot of your expected mining output.

Igra Labs at ETHDam 📷

This past Friday, folks over from Igra Labs have attended the ETHDam event. Even better, they (more specifically, Pavel Emdin) moderated a panel titled "Rollup Architecture and Comparative Analysis of Sequencer Approaches". The speakers include people from teams over at 0xBow, Aztec Labs or Citrea.

We couldn't find any recording at the time of writing, if you'd like to watch the panel, be on the lookout on Igra's X Account.

Atomik Wallet 💳

Say hello to a yet another solution to store your precious Kaspa coins. Atomik Wallet is developed by the same people that have worked on Kasway, which we talked about in our fifth release. It's a multi-platform wallet, originally made because of technical issues when integrating Kaspium in Kasway. The wallet focuses on beginner friendly UI and UX, which allows non technical users to use the wallet without any problems. It's still under heavy development, therefore some features might not be available yet. You can view the progress and the wallet's source code (yes! it's open source!) on their GitHub.

The $10,000 marketing fund 🏦

On May 9th, one of Kaspa's Ambassadors, Luke has shared that a Kaspa community member has committed $10,000 USDT to fund a marketing initiative for Kaspa. The way these funds get spend will be decided by the community. The community quickly flooded the Discord channel with their thoughts and ideas on how to best use these funds to benefit Kaspa. If you have an idea yourself or you'd like to read the full announcement, it's available on the #votes-and-funding-discussions channel on the Kaspa discord server.

That's it for this release! We hope you've enjoyed it! As always, thank you for reading and see you next week! 👋
